GKN has been operating for over 200 years, producing everything from Minis to Spitfires, and cannonballs used during the Battle of Waterloo.
Today the company’s aerospace business serves more than 90% of the world’s aircraft and engine manufacturers. While it’s automotive business is the world’s largest supplier of drive system technology (e.g. 4 wheel drive), which you can find installed in cars across the world.
GKN is a subsidiary of Melrose Industries, who bought the company for £8.1bn in 2018. Melrose Industries is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index.
